Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Series Will Reportedly Launch in India in February, Pre-Orders Said to Start Soon

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 series could reportedly be launched in India this month. The laptop series was unveiled in December last year, but there was no word from the company at the time on plans to launch the lineup in India. A new report suggests that the South Korean brand will make them available to buyers soon. The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 series includes the Galaxy Book 4 Pro, Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 4 Ultra models. Only the first two are said to be launched in the coming days, while the Ultra model is expected to debut later this year.

According to an IANS report (via Hans India), Samsung may announce pre-orders for the Galaxy Book 4 Pro and the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 by mid-February, and the models could go on sale in the last week of the ongoing month. Samsung is yet to make any official announcement regarding the launch or the price of the laptop series.

Both the Galaxy Book 4 Pro and the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 are available in Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver colour options.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro that was launched in global markets is available in both 14-inch and 16-inch screen options and features an AMOLED WQXGA+ (1,800x2,880 pixels) display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 400 nits of peak brightness. Buyers can equip the laptop with either an Intel Core Ultra 7 or Intel Core Ultra 5 (Intel Evo Edition) processor paired with Intel Arc graphics, up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of SSD PCIe inbuilt storage.

The 14-inch model has a 63Wh battery whereas the larger 16-inch variant is backed by a 76Wh battery. Both versions come with 65W wired charging support. For connectivity, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro includes a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports and a USB Type-A port, HDMI 2.1 port, MicroSD slot and headphone microphone combo port.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, it is available in a single 16-inch display option. The display and the processor configuration are the same as the Pro model. Additionally, it has a 360-degree hinge that allows the user to turn the display all the way around and use it like a tablet. It houses a 76Wh battery with 65W wired charging support. The laptop also comes bundled with the S Pen.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra to Come in a Titanium Special Edition, to Offer Up to 1TB Storage: Report

Xiaomi will hold its Xiaomi 14 series global launch event on February 25, a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) opens in Barcelona. The event is expected to see the release of the long-awaited Xiaomi 14 Ultra. While the brand hasn't officially confirmed the phone's existence, a new report suggests that Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be offered in a Titanium special edition. In China, Xiaomi offers a special edition of the Xiaomi 14 Pro with a Titanium frame and a different colour, but the variant has similar features as the standard model. Additionally, the global variant of vanilla Xiaomi 14 has been spotted on the EMVCo website with some key details.

As per a report by 91Mobiles, Xiaomi is preparing a Titanium special edition for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The standard variants of the handset will reportedly have metal frames to keep the prices competitive. Apple and Samsung used Titanium for their latest iPhone 15 Pro models and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Last year's Xiaomi 14 Pro was also offered in a Titanium Edition with a matte titanium alloy side.

Further, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is said to be available in three storage variants in China — 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB.

Separately, the Xiaomi 14 global variant was spotted on the EMVCo certification website. The listing suggests that the handset will ship with Android 14-based HyperOS 1.0 and NFC support.

The global release of the Xiaomi 14 series will take place on February 25 in Barcelona. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro handsets were launched in China in October with an initial price tag of CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 50,000) and CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 56,500), respectively.

The Xiaomi 14 series runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and has a HyperOS interface. They feature LTPO OLED displays with up to 2K resolution and 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. They flaunt a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The Xiaomi 14 Pro houses a 4,880mAh battery with 20W charging support and 50W wireless charging support. The Xiaomi 14 has a 4,610mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging support, and 10W wireless reverse charging.

Apple to Settle Trade Secrets Lawsuit With Chip Startup Rivos

Apple plans to settle a lawsuit that accused tech startup Rivos of stealing its trade secrets related to computer-chip technology, according to a joint court filing on Friday in California federal court.

The companies told the US District Court for the Northern District of California that they had "signed an agreement that potentially settles the case," and that the agreement allows Apple to examine Rivos' systems and recover any confidential information.

Representatives for Apple and Rivos did not immediately respond to requests for comment and more information about the settlement.

Apple sued "stealth" startup Rivos in 2022. It said Mountain View, California-based Rivos had hired away dozens of its engineers and used its confidential information to develop competing "system-on-chip" (SoC) technology.

SoCs are integrated circuits with several computer components in a single chip, including central processing units and graphic processing units. Apple said in the lawsuit that it spent billions of dollars and more than a decade of research on its SoC designs and that they have "revolutionized the personal and mobile computing worlds."

Rivos denied the allegations and claimed that Apple had "sought to punish Rivos and any Apple employees who may seek to work there since the moment Apple learned about the promising startup." It countersued Apple last September for unfair competition.

Apple settled related claims in the case last month against six former employees who left the company to join Rivos.

Google Phone Spotted on Geekbench; Tipped to be Google Pixel 9 Series Model With Tensor G4 SoC

Google Pixel 9 series is expected to launch as the successor to the Pixel 8 lineup, which launched in October 2023 with a base Pixel 8 and a Pixel 8 Pro model. The purported series is expected to launch with three new models, including a vanilla and a Pro model. The third model has not yet been confirmed but may have been spotted online. A new Google handset recently surfaced on a benchmarking website, and it is expected to be the purported third Pixel 9 model.

A MySmartPrice report spotted a smartphone named Google Tokay on the Geekbench 5 database. As per the listing, the handset scored 1082 points on the single-core test and 3121 points on the multi-core test. However, the report also adds that since the scores are significantly lower than those of the Pixel 8 models, the legitimacy of these test results should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The listing shows the Google Tokay model with an octa-core chipset. Four cores seemed to have clocked at 1.95GHz, three at 2.60GHz, and one at 3.10GHz. The report suggests it could be the Tensor G4 chipset. It is also seen with a Mali G715 GPU and 8GB of RAM. The phone is also seen with an Android 14 OS.

The upcoming Google Pixel lineup is tipped to get a base Pixel 9 model codenamed 'komodo' and a Pixel 9 Pro model codenamed 'caiman.' A third model is also rumoured, but little is known about it. The report suggests that this could be the third Pixel 9 series model.

Previously, the Google Pixel 9 leaked images, and Pixel 9 Pro renders surfaced online. They are seen with flat sides, unlike the preceding model and similar to the design of the iPhone 15 series. The models appear with a more compact camera island with a triple rear camera unit.

The company has not confirmed any details regarding the purported top-of-the-line model, but leaks about the smartphone have surfaced online over the past few weeks. Recently, a hands-on image of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was also spotted. Now, a tipster suggests some key specifications of the model.

Tipster Yogesh Brar claimed in a post on X that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.73-inch QHD+ AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and is likely to ship with Android 14-based HyperOS, similar to the existing models in the lineup.

For optics, the tipster suggests that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will likely carry a Leica-backed triple rear camera unit, which may include a 50-megapixel 1-inch primary camera, a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and two more 50-megapixel sensors, one with up to 3x and another up to 5x zoom capabilities. The handset's front camera is expected to be equipped with a 32-megapixel sensor.

As per the tipster, Xiaomi is also likely to pack a 5,300mAh battery into the Xiaomi 14 Ultra model with support for 90W wired fast charging. The handset is also expected to arrive with an IP68 dust and splash resistance rating. Price details or the RAM and storage configurations of the model have not yet been tipped.

Previously, a leaked hands-on image of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra showed the phone in an off-white shade with a large, circular rear camera module, similar to the one we see in the preceding Xiaomi 13 Ultra model.

iPhone SE 4 Tipped to Feature Dynamic Island, Might Offer iPhone 16-Like Design

iPhone SE 4 has been in the rumour mill for quite some time now. The affordable iPhone model has been delayed several times and is now speculated to be released sometime in 2025. Early leaks said that the device would borrow the design language of the iPhone 14 but a new rumour suggests Apple will ditch the notch on the upcoming iPhone SE's display entirely in favour of the Dynamic Island. The Dynamic Island, which can display important notifications, debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple last year expanded the feature to all iPhone 15 models.

Tipster Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) on X claimed that the iPhone SE 4 "could have a design very similar to that of the current iPhone 16 still in development." The upcoming handset is likely to feature a single camera instead of the double one of the iPhone 16 models. The fourth-generation model of the iPhone SE is tipped to get Dynamic Island on the display, which will house the Face ID and selfie camera. The tipster has also included a sketch to add credibility to the rumour. The handset was initially speculated to come with an iPhone 14-like design.

Further, the tipster states that the iPhone SE 4 will have dimensions similar to the iPhone XR. However, the tipster suggests considering the rumours with a pinch of salt "since it is still early to talk and have certainties about it."

Apple introduced the Dynamic Island functionality with iPhone 14 Pro models in 2022. The pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen offers quick access to Apple Pay transactions, low battery warnings, AirDrop transfers, Apple Maps directions, incoming phone calls, music tracks, SharePlay sessions, screen recordings and more.
